Opera on ice 201. in St Petersburg, from 1 to 2 May 2013
videos posted by the Maison de Joubert:
Rigoletto (Verdi) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_i0vq38rnI
Brian on an extract from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi (with excellent accompaniment by the violin) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCKlu_SzXpk
this music has never been the subject of a creative choreography which renders all its subtleties, all rhythm changes … one of the most recorded music in the world, with more or less happiness …
Brian is not comfortable on Rigoletto, but with a studied choreography he could make a good program with Vivaldi , but the Four Seasons deserve a long program

Add to this gala in Astana: Duhamel / Radford, Verner, Zaldua / Sukhanov (adagio pair *), Zhiganshina / Gazsi, Besedin / Polishchuk (the latter are male acrobat skaters).
presentation of the show:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl… petHUPEa8A
“adagio pair” is a couple of skaters who perform tricks without going into the elements provided by the regulations for competitions: they therefore skate for shows … in France, there is Solenne Bachelet and Maxime Combès
I also found this photo of a very beautiful portrait of Isabelle Delobel and Olivier Schoenfelder https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/ imag… 5GWcYT7FGL

Brian will participate in a gala in Tokyo from July 12 to 15, Prince Ice World 2013
http://www.princehotels.co.jp/iceshow/
it seems that Kozuka and Ando are participating … Plushenko, who wanted to present his new program short, will not go, he recently resumed training and has a bad back.

I hope he will present one of his programs for the coming season, even if incomplete

Without doubt inspired by the concept “Dance with the stars” of TF1.
It seems to me that this is a program that exists in the United Kingdom, but I am not sure anymore!
I wonder if it will have the same success as “Dance with the stars”

Vanessa James and Morgan Cirès will participate at Skate Canada with Duhamel / Radford as main opponents, and to a lesser extent the new Moore-Towers / Marinaro couple … Vanessa and Morgan will meet them again at TEB in Bordeaux, with notably Stolbova / Klimov and Sui / Han. A French couple waiting.

Chafik Besseghier will participate in Skate America, with Brown, Abbott, Gachinsky, Machida.
Florent Amodio will be at Skate Canada against Mura, Kozuka, Fernandez, Aaron, Rippon, Reynolds, Menshiv, Brezina.
The two French will meet at TEB (there will be Song, Yan, Machida, Ten, Kovtun, Menshov, Rippon ..)

Mae-Bérénice Meïté will start at Skate Canada against Tuktamsheva, Radionova, Gold, Nagasu.
At TEB, she will be accompanied by Laurine Lecavelier, a 3rd French place waiting, against Osmond, Radionova, Lipnitskaia, Wagner, Hicks, Imai, Cesario …

Gabriella Papadakis / Guillaume Cizeron will start the series with the Chinese Cup, will be there present Cappellini / Lanotte, Ilinykh / Zhiganshin and the Shibutani.
At TEB, with another French couple waiting, Gilles / Poirier, Bobrova / Soloviev, Hubbell / Donohue, Cappellini / Lanotte will also be there …

I presume that the duo waiting at TEB will be Pernelle Carron / Lloyd Jones, I am shocked not to see them named.

Re: ISU Grand Prix 2014/2015
SKATE AMERICA
the season begins, not all skaters are on top form!
What struck me: the technical safety of the Radionova, Nagasu, Gold, Machida, Denney / Frazier, the choreographies for Brown and Abbott.
No short dance enchanted me, however the free program of Chock / Bates was dense, complex, and very well interpreted, discoveries and the technique was well concealed thanks to a careful choreography.
The revelation of the SA was Kavaguti / Smirnov: despite the numerous injuries of Smirnov, the “oldest” of the couple category made a breathtaking comeback with two programs on classical music: on Thaïs by Massenet, they showed a sure technique , the lightness and the fluidity which suits this elegiac piece, then on the dramatic Manfred Symphony by Tchaikovsky, they proved that they are in good shape, have successfully completed a quad launched to perfection, they have also renewed their choreographic content thanks to Peter Chernyshev. We can salute their courage to stay at the top of the competition and wish them good luck this season.

Re: Brian returns to competition
April 1: April Fool !!!! alas the information is false!
ORIGINS OF APRIL FISH:
– This tradition finds its origin in France, in 1564. Legend has it that until then, the year would have started on April 1 (in fact March 25 corresponded according to the Julian calendar to L Day ‘an), at the feast of the Annunciation to Mary with the tradition of exchanging gifts. But the king of France Charles IX decided, by the Edict of Roussillon, that the year would now begin on January 1. ..
If the exact origin of the use of fish remains unclear (perhaps the Christian ichthus), it seems that many people had difficulty adjusting to the new calendar, others were unaware of the change and continued to celebrate April 1 in the old tradition. To make fun of them, some took the opportunity to give them false gifts and play tricks on them. When the jokes developed, one of the most common traps was the offering of fake fish. Thus was born the famous April Fool’s Day, the fool’s day, the day of those who do not accept reality or see it differently.
– Another origin comes from the fact that April 1 was the day when fishing became prohibited, in order to respect the breeding period. To give the fishermen a gift, and to make fun of them a little, we offered them a herring. It was then that a popular habit took hold: a real fish was surreptitiously hung behind people’s backs. As the clothes were larger, the victims did not notice it immediately, so that the fish became more and more sticky and stinky. Thus was born the taste to make that day small gifts for laughter, jokes or mystifications.
In France, at the beginning of the 20th century, pretty postcards were sent, all adorned with an April Fool and richly decorated. The Dieppe Castle Museum has a very large collection of postcards on this theme.
– This custom of making jokes has spread in many countries, although the fish was not always exported at the same time: the Americans and the British have kept their April Fool’s Day (some Scots also speak of Gowk or Cuckoo), the Germans have their Aprilscherz, this custom also exists in Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Italy , Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, or even Japan. In Russia it is called “day of the fools” (den durakov). In Romania, it is the “deception / deception of April 1” (păcăleală de 1 aprilie), in Portugal it is called “day of lies” (dia das mentiras).

LOLLLLLL, I skipped everything this year on the follow-up of the championships, too much work and various concerns … I am happy for the title of World Champions of French in ice dance … On the other hand, this forum should not not close? And suddenly, apart from skating passion which I don’t really like, is there another good site or forum to follow skating news? Thank you. Last question: Shouldn’t Brian be a coach?

sorry for the delay in replying to you, but it appears from recurring journalistic information that he plans to become a coach, he must prepare his diploma in 3 years: “I will stay in the middle. I am starting a three-year course to pass my coaching diplomas. I will soon take care of the little ones in Poitiers. If French team skaters need my services, I am available. »
Http://www.lanouvellerepublique.fr/Vien… an-2291949

“I completed the file to pass my diplomas. I had already started the state certificate course. So, I’m ahead. I’m going to spend it over three years because it still requires 1,200 hours and I want to continue to do galas. I still have plans to open my skating school in Poitiers. I know that I could count on the support of the municipality. The equipment is very good with the work carried out at the ice rink. If I have had a career in Poitiers, I am convinced that others can do it. »

Re: Brian returns to competition
No worries, we are all caught up in our IRL commitments.

Well it’s nice for him, I really hope that we will see him behind the scenes of the big championships, and especially that he will manage to train great French champions. After BJ in men it will be super hard: like Moses and his 40 years in the desert! I am not too junior but it will not be for now a new European or even French World champion!

You just have to see the 30 years or more before BJ wins a world title compared to the previous champion. Where we can put things in perspective: it is faster now in terms of spectacular progress in the disciplines (see transition from triple jumps to quads), if we are well surrounded, that we make the right choices on the staff (trainer, coach, preparers etc) and especially a lot of sacrifices (like French couples of ice dance), who knows? Wait and See!

The joke was not entirely false because Brian will participate in the Japan Open in early October. It will not be the only “returning” because Asada, Sotnikova and Chan will also be there (good they come back for the whole season on the other hand)

Japanese team: M.Asada – S. Miyahara – D. Murakami – S. Uno –

European team: E. Tuktamysheva – A. Sotnikova – B. Joubert. J. Fernandez

North American team: A. Wagner – G. Gold – P. Chan – J. Abbott

I would like to know what they mean by a reduced free? fewer jumps, no quads? I think Brian, technically, can make a good program because during galas, he still makes triples … but personally, I would like him to try to highlight what he learned from DALS in his way of skating. I don’t know if I’m clear?

But no, the galas still have positive points!
In any case I would say in the case of Brian that:
1) seeing him skate without any pressure is really super pleasant; I also like competitions but by hearing his interviews or watching his TV appearances his serenity struck me, he looked very happy, so I tell myself that the time was right for him to Stop.
2) generally he chooses dynamic music and I like it, it’s a style that suits him very well I think.
3) he always treats us with his small steps which I never tire of !!!

Salut !

Bises !

Moi j’y serai samedi après-midi!

On the count of medals, it would be interesting to calculate the proportion between the number of medals and that of the participating athletes, and why not calculate the proportion of the medals compared to the population of each country?

Can we start talking about preparing skaters here? In order not to clutter up the other topics, so on that of Brian’s interviews, I am continuing the discussion here, you don’t mind ^^

klamp wrote:

For comparison, Yagudin and Lysaceck had started when their preparation?

Lysacek’s preparations were made just after the tour in South Korea, during May and maximum in early June.
This will be the only way for Brian to shine next January at the Olympics. He will have to ensure several points:

– Having a program and a safe and certain music for the short and the free from April-May
– Starting the land from May with strict diet
– Having the choreography of his programs maximum in July
– Participating in a maximum of international competitions to show its program
– Have a fixed trainer + a choreographer + a training place from May.

I agree with Anne Marie, July is clearly too late knowing that he has to put together a short program, that he is not sure and certain to keep Gladiator (we are talking about Inception) and that at 29 years it takes a lot more work to physically hold

Last modification by jipé-33 (Today 12:23)

It is doable but in terms of discipline, will he stick to it? Someone of his staff would he have the good idea to harp on these points with regard to the preparation of former champions ?! Besides, who is currently part of Brian’s staff? I think he must continue on his good streak with his current coach even if he surrounds himself with good choreographers or other “technicians”.
I know that CMs are not the Olympic Games but it is still comparable: when did Yuna Kim resume training exactly to get an idea? Knowing that she is still young (+ endurance) and no doubt she is more driven by the patriotic challenges of her small country, she was all the more motivated * I do not criticize the patriotism of our skaters but in Korea vs’

Did Yu Na Kim stop training? surely not ! then she had to intensify her preparation … she was 2nd at the 2011 CM but, if she did not participate in the 2012 CM, she still had prepared 3 programs with her appointed choreographer David Wilson.

Re: Jo Sochi 2014
OK Klamp, let’s stay on this topic to talk about the preparation of skaters for the 2014 Olympics.

I largely share the program concocted by Jipé-33 … the latest results show that preparing in a hurry will not be enough to compete with the best, including the youngest.
– I don’t know about Yagudin, but in my opinion, he started much earlier than July, and he had a continuous general physical preparation … he was already on top in the years preceding the 2002 Olympics ( http: // www .isuresults.com / bios / isufs_cr_00000254.htm ) because he was either champion or vice-champion at the CE and CM. Besides Yagudin said that Brian’s problem was his preparation …
for Lysacek, it started in May … also note that the association with Franck Carol and the choreographer Lori Nicol, well aware of the requirements of the regulations, paid in his favor (note see the evolution of Denis Ten with the same coach and choreographer!).

– YES for a specific sports diet.

– BUT !!! QUESTION OF TIMING:
– the LAND is in CONTINUOUS conversation, all year round with less intense phases to recover and immerse your head in something else, therefore maintain physical condition without ruining your health: endurance to maintain a long program with all its difficulties without weakening at the end, quality of the steps, pirouettes, stability on jumps in shortened jump preparation sequences (transitions).
– The choice of MUSIC and CHOREOGRAPHY can intervene at any time and the EARLIER is the best, in any case they must suit Brian’s style otherwise we will still witness a change of program. Why not a new short program and a GLADIATOR redesigned, revised and corrected?
The technical content, including steps, transitions and pirouettes, must take into account what the judges are asking for. The choice of single or combined jumps must take into account their point value, their placement in the program (+ 10% bonus in the 2nd half), while of course taking Brian’s abilities into account. But he knows it, the whole thing is to apply it!
– THEREFORE PROVIDE, NOW, if not already done, a training place, a trainer and a choreographer.

– BUT the SHORT PROGRAM must optimize the points: garner as many points as possible from the short program like Chan, who won the CM thanks to the short program.

– NO NO NO: especially not to multiply the international competitions because it would be exhausting, and it would arrive flat on the big day when it is necessary to be as fresh as possible, therefore to be limited to the strictly necessary … BUT Brian will do some GALAS , it would be wise for him to be able to gradually prowl his new short program there.

Indeed Anne Marie, when I propose to multiply the competitions it is not to finish at the Olympics exhausted 😉 But it is to gain strength and especially to show her program to international judges. Brian has missed too many competitions in the past 3 years.

It seems to me that it takes a ramp-up program to be at the top in January next year. And at least do the masters, the TEB and another grand prize trophy. I think (and maybe wrongly) that a lack of competition is not good for a skater. You just have to see what happened with Péchalat Bourzat.
Afterwards, it obviously does not have to start its energy and its progression curve.

We stay the course. Nothing will stop us. We get back to work. At the end of the month, we will be mounting our two new programs in Paris with our choreographers…

it’s starting to make him laugh, all these skaters who announce that they will place 3 quads in their free.
For the moment, “in real life”, there was only Brian a long time ago, Fernandez last year, Reynolds I think and … I do not know who.
Florent spent his first quad in competition this year.
It’s good that he is ambitious – even if for that I would have preferred him to leave Morozov and see Lambiel for more than 5 days … – but the big declarations the year of the Olympics, it reminds me too much of Brian.

3 quads in the same program: from memory, the first was Timothy Goebel in 1999 at Skate America !! Brian at an ISU Grand Prize in Moscow in 2006, Fernandez and Reynolds during the 2012/2013 season. Reynolds has already succeeded, like Plushenko, the combination 4 + 3 + 3

An article in Absolute Skating http://www.absoluteskating.com/index.ph… latbourzat on Nathalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat, back on the past season,
but they are already working on their new programs!
A great story for free skating, she says …
the short dance will focus on the finnstep (there was the finnstep in compulsory dance in 2009), inspired by the quickstep itself inspired by the foxtrot and influenced by the hi-hat: technically it is fast, precise, with small jumps, throws and hunted, and for the style it is joyful and elegant … this dance was very popular in the 1920s, called “crazy years”, which followed the First World War, and the economy was then expanding! This dance requires a certain virtuosity and we will have to be precise technically and creatively ….

an interesting article on MENSHOV http://web.icenetwork.com/news/article. … Y = ice_news
in summary:
the 2012-13 season was a roller-coaster ride for him:
– good
silver medalist results at the Nebelhorn Trophy, 4th at Skate America and at the Rostelecom Cup. In December 2012, he won the NRW Trophy in Dortmund, with a total of 238.63 points, ahead of Michal Březina of Czech Republic with more than 25 points, 3rd in the Russian championship …
– but he was excluded from the CE in Zagreb and the CM in London, despite the rules of its federation and petitions including skaters such as Maxim Trankov, Dmitri Soloviev and Alena Leonova.
In April, Menshov participates in the 2013 World Team Trophy. Placed 3rd after the short program, he dislocates his right shoulder program but dislocated his right shoulder during the free skate and had to withdraw from the event. During the free program and declares forfeit.

Menshov has just attended a training camp in Nice, but it was more a question of getting back in touch with the ice, and of recovering rather than training, which he must do until June. His shoulder sometimes hurts him and he still needs medical treatment.
Because of this, he canceled a trip to the USA this week, he had to work on his new programs. Although he has some ideas, he is not yet sure of the musical choices. At the end of June, he went to Latvia and then to Sweden for training.
He thanks those who supported him and feels mentally stronger.

“” Its evolution thanks to the technical help provided by Jeffrey Buttle … who had choreographed the short program for the year past, beforehand it was a gala program.
He considers that being 3 times world champion makes him a gold medalist in perspective, however the bar is high. “”
The most interesting in this article is:
“I try to go at it like I have any other year because the preparation for the Olympics isn’t really done in the last year “. “It’s not really smart to do that.” “The past three years, not the fourth, is the preparation for the Olympics. I’m not trying to squeeze it in the last year.” ”

Hello !

Another skating competition in Japan! I will end up believing that other countries smell like pâté. Japan here, Japan there. The Japanese are very strong in this discipline of agreement, but all the same.
Well, I have an idea: we just have to organize everything in Japan! The Grands Prix, the Grand Prix finals, and even the Master’s of Orléans and the European Championships (to take advantage of their insane infrastructures).
After all, the Paris-Dakar is no longer organized in Senegal and Miss Europe was elected in Lebanon in the early 2000s, not to mention the participation of Israel in Eurovision big_smile…

Everything is possible!

Okay so, as the men’s category is the only one that really interests me, I start to prospect for these CMs.

The only one I’m sure he won’t be going to CM is Brian – and given his condition after free, well, that sounds better to me. he has already turned the page.

Takahashi, whom I feared to have seen for the last time, is well selected. Ditto with Abbott. They stop their careers afterwards.
Verner, I believe, is not going there.
Chan, I don’t think so either, but I’m not sure. After three world titles, not sure that he is motivated for a 4th after missing the Olympic title.

We will be able to cry again in front of Takahashi and Abbott big_smileI wish them both a medal, but it will be hard!
Hanyu should be world champion, except big mental backlash – which would be understandable. Ten is likely to stay on the podium.

Chafik will go, French side, normally with Florent but given the state of the latter, it is not certain. I hope he will motivate himself by thinking at least of the quotas for next year – and the fact that if he wants to continue, he must rebound immediately so that the judges say that he is not completely lost. If he does not go to CM, Ponsart is injured, and I believe that the others do not have the minimum …

Brian is still the only French skater who can save something at the CM. Pity. Personally, I felt “before free” that he wanted to finish with a correctly executed program, by doing especially what he liked, the jumps, and by making a little bit of pirouettes and other elements on which he lost points.

nan, because sending skaters to the highest level is just “a little” trainer. To deprive Chafik of worlds for the 2nd time would be scandalous.

Meryl Davis and Charlie White, Tessa Virtue / Scott Moir, Patrick Chan, Yuna Kim
http://q.usatoday.com/2014/03/03/sochi-… no- worlds /
Ditto the Hubble couple / Donohue because of injuries

that can interest Nathalie and Fabian. Small reshuffle of the free program would be wise, “or” possible

list of judges and technical controllers

Patrick Chan however intends to continue, given his level and his young age he can still do an olympiad http://www.lequipe.fr/Patinage-artistiq… ait / 446345 and so much the better, because there are many departures from former champions who have turned the page in Sochi.

CM Nice 2012-Predictions and competition
The predictions are launched!
I hope that all these beautiful champions will get us great performances at the CM especially that I come from far to see all that xD
More seriously, in men, what do you think of the 302.14 points of P.Chan in the championship Canada?
Personally, I am more and more skeptical, as I always said, Chan has excellent qualities but from there to give him a notation worthy of a genius which declassifies (even if it was not the same system ok rating!), monsters like Yagudin, there is really something to be puzzled … Plushi stays really far even with these + or -261 pts at the CE!
Anyone follow the results of Japanese, American?
As I know that Plushi will be absent, it certainly leaves room for the 2nd and 3rd place but what about our French, are they likely ?!

And for the other disciplines, what are your forecasts? ^^

Re: CM Nice 2012-Predictions and competition
In Men’s, I’m afraid Chan will take the title, personally he is not a skater that I appreciate … but apparently the judges are not of my opinion.
On the French side, I really hope that being in France will give them wings !! If Brian manages to overcome his stress I think he has his chances, just like Florent. But I think that in this category, the competition will be intense.

In dance, I dream of a title for Fabian and Nathalie, but they will have to fight against the Americans and Canadians, but at worst a podium is really accessible.

As a couple, I follow less apart from the Germans whom I love very much I don’t know many people, but after the EC dominated by the Russians I think that they will also be very present.

In girls, a great stranger to me, I think we will see Kosner and Korpi again, maybe the Georgian girl that I don’t find too bad. Hoping that the French will be there. I think it’s going to be the most open category.

But hey all this is only my personal opinion! 😉

– For men, unless there is a disaster, Chan will win the title. Only Takahashi can worry him. But as Chan can fall 4 times into the program and win, I’m afraid it will be played in advance.

I also think that 3rd place is accessible for a skater who will put 2 quads and 2 axels in the free following a short program without fault: I know that there is one who is able to do it and the judges will be all similarly influenced to be in France… the public will have to put pressure on them! I dare not imagine the atmosphere at the entrance of Brian on the ice! It’s going to be crazy !!

I do not see Amodio competing for a podium: he has never passed a correct quad neither in a court, nor in a free in big championships! … I know that he will be transcended but good …

A lot of people talk about Abbott who is a skater whom I really like, however, I learned that he was injured recently, and we can say that he is very fragile psychologically in big championships…

We still have Gachinski, Kozuka, Fernandez, Hanyu and the Chinese that I saw at TEB and whose name I forgot: they are capable of great technical things.

– In dance, you can’t imagine how I like our 2 Frenchies, their 2 programs are the most beautiful this year without a doubt.

However, I think that technically Davis / White are still above, even if I hate their 2 programs above all this year (whereas I usually like…).

I think Nath and Fab can be second if the Canadian Virtue / Moir make a mistake and they make 2 perfect programs. Beware, however, of the second Candian couple who have a magnificent free on “Je suis Malade” sung by Lara Fabian.

– As a couple, I found Volozozhar / Trankov inside at the European championships compared to the TEB: it will be played between them and the Germans whom I get tired a little… and I have a little crush on the Canadians Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford. Ah, I forgot, there’s the Chinese too!

– For girls, it’s going to be super open! Personally, I prefer Alissa Czisny to Carolina. Do not forget also Ashley Wagner who has just won the US championship and also Mao Asada to whom we wish the best after the personal drama she experienced in December.

Re: CM Nice 2012-Predictions and competition
Hi everyone !!

Totally agree with what has been said previously. With 5 falls in the free and 2 on the court, Chan will win anyway. So not even a debate on the winner, it will be Chan who is on the planet “I have the judges in my pocket because I am very light on the ice and that even if I fall they do not care the judges hahaha” .
When I think this guy dislodges Yagudin in terms of rating, it is to hang himself.

Second place for Takahashi a priori, it is “for me” the best skater in the world for 2 years, I find him superior to Chan on all points except maybe the use of all the edges on the step sequences. And again it is to quibble.

And for the Bronze, bah there on the other hand it is the complete stampede even if Gachinski is surely the best placed.
I wish the best for Brian and Florent, even if I don’t believe it at all. I just hope that Brian will make us a very big Matrix worthy of 2004 with 2 quads. All I ask him is to have fun, not to take the lead, because it may be his last competition. So let’s go deep, have fun like never before. But do not expect a podium, its levels in pirouettes and not are too low I fear. I don’t care if Brian ends up on the podium, what I want is for him to let go. He has nothing to prove to anyone.

For the dance, I would be completely behind Péchalat Bourzat because their freedom is just an absolute slaughter. And I weigh my words. They have an incredible level and they can win a podium with this Egyptian theme.

I totally agree with you that Brian has nothing left to prove and that it will be very difficult for him. But hey … I also want him to make us a beautiful Matrix, clean and with envy and fighting spirit … that’s what will make everyone happy …
And, I’m just saying that the pressure will be difficult to manage for all French skaters!

Definitely, we are all of the same opinion concerning Chan… You saw him skating live? Apart from the lightness, and even if technically it is good (capable of putting 2 quads in the free), for the rest, and well, we are pissed off … I fear that it does not mark the public … no charisma …

good then …

in the men, the podium of which I dream:
Brian
Abbott
Takahashi

The podium which I predict:
Chan
and after, 3 for two places: Abbott, Takahashi, Kozuka

I hope to see Brian and Florent in the 10 – all the two somewhere between 5 and 8 … I find the level very homogeneous, in men; Chan is a step up for the judges; after … Abbott, Takahashi, Kozuka, Gachinski (who has for him his bronze medal from last year and his silver medal at the EC), Brian, Florent, Fernandez, Verner, I am sure I will forget … The first 4 cities are more “safe” than the next 4, but in absolute terms, they are held in a handkerchief.

in dance, I hope and believe in a third place (at least) for Péchalat and Bourzat, behind Virtue-Moir and White-Davies.

As girls and as couples, I haven’t been around for a long time … I tell myself that as a couple, a place in the 10 is not impossible for James-Cipres?

Well personally, I see Brian around 8-10 and Florent between 5th and 7th place.
Inherently, it’s wonderful to have 2 French skaters in the top 10, but the problem for us who support them is that they are closer to 10 than to the podium for me.

Afterwards, if some people mess up and make mistakes, then anything goes. But frankly, it’s impossible to imagine Brian on the podium with his current level of steps and pirouettes. Now imagine that he gives us the same program as in 2006 in Vancouver, he may have a (slim) chance of winning the Bronze. But besides Chan, you have to know how to be fairplay and recognize that with respect to the new system of judgment, our Brian is far from Takahashi, Gachinski, Abbot,
There is only one skill in component on which Brian is the best in the world: the charisma-presence on ice.

Then I don’t want to believe in a podium because I know that 90% would be disappointed. I’m just waiting for a free fire program in front of the French public with 2 quads, 2 triple axels and Brian will be able to stop his career by the very large door, even by finishing 8th. I just want a program without pressure and no headache.

Brian is not inferior to Gachinski in absolute terms. Gachinski has progressed, certainly, but he still has a job to make his programs successful in terms of transitions in particular.
In the CE, Brian is tied with him in components, while we know that the component score is “inflated” by the technical quality of the program, on which Brian was far from Gachinski. I said earlier that I think this note has become the “judges’ adjustment variable”, on which they do a little what they want; I think Brian was a bit nicknamed on this one (but clearly less ridiculous than Plushenko big_smile) but honestly, I can’t find a Brian in good shape behind Gachinski on this plan (behind all the others you mention, yes ).

I agree that for Gachinski I may have pushed the plug a bit far 🙂
But despite everything, he has a mastery of jump combinations that Brian does not have. In terms of components, I do not find that Brian was nicknamed. Its Matrix version 2012 is really good in terms of transitions, it is the steps and pirouettes that are lagging behind.

But for at least 2 years, where Brian picks up, it’s often in technique. He makes almost no combination, he loses a considerable number of points. He does for example 2 triple flip on his free … and the last without combination which is reclassified as double.
For me Gachinski is superior to Brian especially from this point of view. After on the components, I still see Brian a little above but he is too far in technique.

yes, but precisely, he forces himself, on the combinations, and when something goes wrong, they are the ones who jump (they are planned in his Matrix 2012, he nevertheless did not spend one in the free of the CE).

In absolute terms, ie regardless of his nerves, Brian has the build to be world champion. In practice, it would be a huge achievement this year, a true resurrection. Nothing is impossible ; but undeniably, it’s hard to seriously and objectively believe in your chances – but I assumed that I dream of it, huh, so I keep dreaming of itbig_smile If only because Brian taps me in front of my TV like Chan will never do, even when he passes two quads (because we can say what we want of Chan, does not prevent that the technical effort it did it, it’s not like when he boasted that the quad was useless …).

In fact you should know that even with a broken leg Chan can win. He may even win without making a jump but by aligning the sequences of steps and pirouettes.

30 pts between him and Takahashi? I’m seriously losing patience with the judges myself. As if the judges’ message was as follows: “No one can beat chan by the time of the Sochi Olympics. You can participate but you will lose. Thank you”.

No but do you realize what it is 30 pts? It’s 2 Quad Triple combinations. The type has 2 quads ahead + 2 triple jumps. It’s just IMPOSSIBLE and UNSUPPORTABLE.
I believe that even if it was forfeited for the World Championships in Nice, the judges would put it ahead.

It is really unbearable this attitude of the judges … and is not very discreet especially there is not such a difference in level between Chan and the others, well I think, it really spoils the competitions in which he participates . But what can we do apart from watching and seeing the judges’ “love” for this skater …

Hi everyone !

What did poor Patrick Chan do to you? Well, it’s true that he has the judges in his pocket, but since he speaks French everything is fine … it’s as if he were French (that’s all I found for perspective sad)

Otherwise, to comfort you, I suggest you watch sublissime Ashley Wagner by going to this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTfuSEHn4cc

(there are times when it makes me think of Dorothy from Club Dorothée … it must be his mouth actually)

She exploded the other competitors with this wonderful program which she will present in Nice. Chic! She is much better than Kostner this season (Kostner no longer passes the Lutz and is struggling to place his only Flip in his free). What a Shaaame! When you know that the Italian is able to put two Flip, including a combined with a triple loop stitched in a program (see his free from 2007 to “Europeans”), that makes a little trouble.

For Mao Asada, I’m afraid it will be a little cooked cooked for her at the end of the season, although … you never know.

In dance, it will be played between Virtue-Moir and Davis-White … as usual. The French will be in ambush.

For men, well, the competition is more open than ever. I have never seen such a level in a long time. There are records that will fall, that’s for sure. Apart from Chan, who will win gold, a dozen competitors will play a place on the podium; and they are ALL capable of it: Takahashi (I hate his program), Hanyu, Gashinski (good in technique but in art it’s chhh …), Abbott, Fernandez. Without forgetting the outsiders who will seize all the opportunities: Rippon (triple Lutz with arms raised smile), Amodio (I dare believe it), Reynolds (capable of great things) and the Chinese Song. And Brian Joubert (of course).

Voila, voila.

Go, I leave you.

@ soon !

Wagner has qualities: technique, body holding, flexibility (pirouettes), but his program leaves me frozen as he is banal in his gestures, but we can blame most skaters. The only choreographies worthy of this word and which seduce me are those of Kostner. It was the same with Rochette and Kim. There was a time when I also enjoyed those of Asada (under the leadership of Tarasova).
I will therefore only be in Nice for couples, men and dancing.
Chan has a general technique accomplished. He had been criticized for not going quad, he does it almost regularly. You can’t describe it. Its short program is attractive. But that does not justify such a gap with Takahashi, Fernandez etc. Gachinski’s free skateboarding program made me much more, it was dense and there were a few stylistic discoveries. For me he was superior to Plushenko, who we nicknamed until he did better, and that so that he could stay on the competition sphere until Sochi.

Message from Tadzia (who has problems coming back to the forum)

I had bought tickets for the Friday afternoon (men’s short programs) and Saturday afternoon (men’s free programs) events, but I have an unforeseen event (oral test at university on Friday afternoon, I am a little disgusted …) which prevents me from attending the short programs. So I want to sell my ticket, because it would bother me a lot if my place is lost. My ticket is a 2nd category ticket, bought at 63.50 euros. I sell it for 50 euros, but it can be negotiable. The place is: South grandstand, staircase 24, row Z, place 18. It’s an e-ticket, it’s downloaded on my computer but not yet printed. If you are interested or if you know people who may be interested, do not hesitate, I would really like it to benefit someone rather than
Thank you in advance !

I do not know what to answer, having already skated a little, on the ice it is a bit cold, although it remains relative, in the ice (bleachers), it remains very bearable … I think a coat of ‘standard thickness should be enough but hey not bother to take one that weighs 10 T either, already in Nice it is not super cold at the moment ^^
I tell you that but my opinion is to be put into perspective, coming from the dom for l ‘event, I am thinking of putting on a coat because I have lost the habit of winter temperatures for more than two years’ ^^ On the

other hand I ask myself a question: photographing during exhibitions must be prohibited, flashes destabilizing as in tennis, but how do they control it then? Because the public takes many photos at the end of the programs? Too bad I don’t

Has anyone had any feedback on Brian or Amodio’s training? (I know that Brian took a trainer in pairs with V. Guyon …)
And on the other skaters?

Hi all!
I always read you but I still have little time to write to you.
Tonight I saw all the short and long brian programs from those of Calgary 2006 to those of Moscow 2011 … Conclusion?
I saw on his eyes the progressive loss of the “rage to gain” and unfortunately a certain technical regression (less combinations of jumps, sequences of not very corehogaphès compared to the past ..).
It is very sad for me to see a winner, an atlet with a fiery personality like him, making continuous contrasts in recent years.
Honestly I hardly see Brian on the podium in these WCs, even if the fact that he won the competition in Holland two weeks ago must be for him (and for us toosmile) a good injection of confidence (excuse me, I don’t know if in French this phrase exists, I hope you will understand me smile).
In any case, even if I do not seem optimistic, I hope in the bottom of my heart that he made two programs “fire of God” (I read this phrase here and I loved it smile), and that he shows us, the judges, and especially himself that he is still capable of having fun and making us dream.
GO BRIAN! DON’T FORGET WHAT YOU ARE!
big kisses to all.

Je me prosterne.
