Brian, an idea to start again differently on a second sporting life, a fulfilled coach life: try the gyrotonic … watch on YouTube and watch what this discipline can bring to skaters … it is an idea of a dancer of 51 who has found a different way of dancing. There is no age to progress and find other resources of the body and great satisfaction. Just an idea that came to me while watching videos and thinking about your great skating skills. All my encouragement. V

you are coming to Rochefort sur Mer on December 10 to inaugurate the ice rink.
My daughter Laura Godeau, the VOICE KIDS 2 finalist, lives nearby.
she would be delighted to come sing one or two songs on the ice.
A good idea ?
Good luck to you and well done

Hello Brian,
As part of a bachelor party I would like to ask you for a little dance on the ice. Indeed my friend Pauline who is getting married has been a pationnee of ice dancing since a very young age. She was champion of France in couple and would have even shared training with you! I think that would make him a huge surprise !! I remain at your disposal to discuss the subject. I insist but it would be really great !!! Leah

Brian Joubert – Livre : Brian Joubert, le feu sur la glace

BRIAN JOUBERT ON GLOSSY PAPER

Through numerous photos, often unpublished, sometimes intimate, and multiple testimonies from loved ones, this illustrated book lifts part of the veil that surrounds this reserved young man.

Atypical skater, extraordinary champion, Brian Joubert has become a legend in his sport by building a unique record. Daredevil, mad about speed, he hardly seemed predisposed to figure skating, which he nevertheless practiced since the age of four, cultivating a virile and powerful style which revolutionized his discipline.

Very attached to Poitiers, his hometown that he never wanted to leave, Brian Joubert won almost everything on ice rinks around the world. Six consecutive gold medals at the French championships between 2002 and 2009, a gold medal at the world championships in 2007 and three times European champion, Brian Joubert is determined to add victories to this exceptional prize list in the next games Winter Olympics, to be held in Vancouver in February. “The Olympics don’t haunt me but I think about it every day,” he says.

Extremely popular thanks to his performances, his extraordinary style and his ideal gender, the skater, who remains one of the favorite sportsmen of the French, is determined to continue his ascent.

The authors: Brian JOUBERT, Loïc LEJAY

BRIAN JOUBERT, FIRE ON THE ICE

The French hope of figure skating. Since 2002, this young man has been playing in the big leagues and stands out on the international ice: World, European, French and Olympic championships are only the competitions in which he participated during his first year among seniors !

With the words of his generation, he tells of his young career, from his childhood in Poitiers and his beginnings at the age of four, to the Olympiads in Turin, including national and international competitions. In all honesty and simplicity, he evokes his family, his coaches, his opponents and his friends. Her hopes and disappointments. He who proclaims his rage to conquer, to win, to be the first, also shares with us his doubts, his hesitations and his flashes. Far from taking a distant look at his journey, he takes the reader into the heat of the action.

An express biography, marked by the sacred fire of this young prodigy, which will delight his fans and all lovers of figure skating!

BIOGRAPHY

Brian set foot on the ice of the Poitiers ice rink for the first time at the age of 4 to follow his sisters. He appreciated the contact with the ice and started to practice hockey, but it will not be long before he finally switches to the artistic. His first trainer, Véronique Guyon-Desgardins will not fail to notice this already very motivated little boy of 6 years old.

Season 2001 – 2002
It was with Véronique Guyon that he learned everything and it was therefore with her that he won his ticket for his first European Championships in Lausanne thanks to his third place at the French Championships. He then set himself the goal of being among the top ten Europeans and being the first French. Brian will do much better than that by winning a Bronze medal which makes him mounted on the podium alongside the greatest Russian skaters formerly his idols (Yagudin and Abt) now his rivals. Following this, he qualified for his first Olympic games, and it was above all for the pleasure of attending the opening ceremony that he made the trip. Brian will get the fourteenth place keeping in mind that it will probably not be his last Olympic games.

2002-2003 season
The following season will be even stronger in victories: he wins Skate America and the French Championships, he obtains a second place at the European Championships in Malmöe, a third place at the Grand Prix Final, and a sixth place at the Championships of the World of Washington.

2003-2004 season
The 2003-2004 season was punless: brilliant! We note his victory at the Colmar Masters and a second place at the China Cup. It was at this time that he began to train with Laurent Depouilly. He also benefited from the advice of Alexei Yagudin (Olympic champion turned professional) during a few days of training. After a fourth place at the NHK Trophy in Japan, Brian unfortunately failed to qualify for the Grand Prix Final: he finished seventh overall. It was in Briançon that Brian obtained his second title of Champion of France this season.
Then come his second European championships in which he finishes second in the short program, behind Evgueny Plushenko whom he will beat once the free program has been completed: Here is the young Frenchman is European champion! The season ended at the World Championships where he got second place behind his “rival” Plushenko. He spent the summer at Simsbury coached by Laurent Depouilly, Alexei Yagudin and many others to prepare for the following season.

2004-2005 season
This season started with some difficulties marked by a 3rd place in the Masters. To remedy this, Brian’s free program was completely revised and the result soon proved its worth in Skate America, which he won for the second time. At the end of November, the Parisian public discovers with pleasure its new programs and more particularly its free program on the theme of “1492 – Christophe Colomb” which made an ovation and enabled him to obtain second place in the Eric Bompard Trophy. We also note that he obtained his 3rd title of champion of France. Then in January we learn the separation with his coach Laurent Depouilly, so it is his coach “always” Véronique Guyon who accompanies him during the last straight line which leads him to the Championships. Europe of Turin where he put his gold medal back into play. On the ice of Turin a year before the Olympic Games, gold turns into silver against a plushenko eager to take his revenge. The season ended at the World Championships where he got sixth place.

2005-2006 season
The 2005-2006 season begins with a new coach (Russian): Andrei Berezintsev and two new programs whose themes seem to go perfectly with Brian’s temperament: James Bond 007 and Lord of the dance. This season is very important because you have to be close in February for the long-awaited Olympic Games. The start of the season is rather promising with several podiums and his 4th victory at the French championships. However, not all jumps are still going through in particular for the free program, and the big deadline is approaching. In Turin (OJ) Brian, a great sportsman, takes risks which will unfortunately not be rewarded. In fact, he will have to settle for 6th place when his objective was undoubtedly Olympic gold. This disappointment was the starting point for questioning the difficult free program to achieve. For the last big deadline of this season Brian takes the decision to resume the program dear to his heart and which allowed him to obtain his biggest victory (European champion in 2004): “Matrix”. This decision turned out to be a very good thing because he finished the season with a 2nd place at the world championships.

2006-2007 season
Brian decides again to change his trainer, he leaves Andrei Berezintsev for Jean-Christophe Simond (former French champion), today technical specialist at international level for the new judging system. Brian resumes his short on James Bond and skates a new free program on a cover of Metallica. At the start of the season, he won the Clermont-Ferrand Masters and two stages of the ISU Grand Prix: first the Eric Bompard Trophy in Paris and then the Russian Cup in Moscow where he established a new personal record by achieving 3 quadruple jumps, he qualified for the final in St. Petersburg, which he also won. He also became champion of France for the fifth consecutive year. Continuing its momentum, Brian once again becomes European champion in Warsaw and finally world champion in Tokyo for the first time in his career, obtaining a score beyond 240 points. In other baths it is Brian’s big season which wins all the competitions in which he participates!

2007-2008 season
Brian participates in September at the Courbevoie Masters where he presents his new programs. After having presented Armonia in gala numerous times, Sébastien Damiani and Brian Joubert decide to accentuate their collaboration and it is in May 2007 that All for You will be written and recorded. This work will become Brian Joubert’s new short program to replace “James BOND”. He then won gold at Skate Canada, the first international competition of the season with 213.62 points. He will be forfeited to the Eric Bompard trophy due to illness, to the great regret of the Parisians who wait each year for this international meeting. He continues all the same month of a month after on his sixth title of champion of France in Megève. Then came the two disappointments of the season:

it is interesting to hear Brian say that certain pieces of classical music could be the subject of choreography … indeed the repertoire is immense

Re: gala in Korea: All That Skate Summer 2012
the classical repertoire is huge and there are little known composers who have talent …
however not all classical music is successful, there are some songs that are boring even for amateurs! if a music (classical or other) that “goes well” is not too badly interpreted, the program will go well too, but on “difficult” music then you need great talent on the part of the skater and especially his choreographer to make him interested! this can be a challenge, a challenge!
